One of the most iconic garden plants, this Midwest plains native is a cultivator’s dream plant. There are so many cultivars commercially available in shades of white, pink, yellow, and orange. Bees love this plant (and sometimes so do Japanese beetles). Still, it is a great foundation plant for the North American native garden.
